NVIDIA CEO Jensun Huang announced the launch of a personal AI supercomputer called ‘Project Digits’ during his keynote address at CES 2025. The project is equipped with NVIDIA Grace Blackwell technology and will give AI researchers, data scientists and students a chance to establish new dimensions in AI. Its price will start at $3,000 and it will be available from May 2025.
NVIDIA CEO Jensun Huang announced the launch of a personal AI supercomputer called ‘Project Digits’ at CES 2025. This AI supercomputer uses NVIDIA Grace Blackwell technology, which will prove to be revolutionary for researchers, data scientists and students to create, fine-tune and deploy AI models.
GB10 superchip equipped with new technology:
Huang said that NVIDIA’s new GB10 Grace Blackwell superchip has been used in this project. This chip is capable of delivering AI performance up to 1 petaflop. This chip is equipped with CUDA and fifth-generation Tensor cores. The biggest feature of the GB10 chip is that it delivers more performance in less energy and can be run from just a normal power outlet.
Technical features:
- 128GB unified memory and 4TB NVMe storage.
- By connecting two ‘Project Digits’, models with up to 405 billion parameters can be run.
- NVIDIA Grace CPU and NVLink-C2C chip-to-chip interconnect technology.
Revolution in every field of AI:
Huang also said that this technology will work to bring AI into the mainstream for every industry and every application. ‘Project Digits’ aims to bring AI supercomputers to the desk of every data scientist, AI researcher and student.
AI software and tools:
Under this project, users can use software kits, frameworks and models available in NVIDIA’s NGC catalog and NVIDIA Developer Portal. In addition, NVIDIA Rapids for data science and the NeMo framework for model fine-tuning can also be used.
Pricing and availability:
‘Project Digits’ will be available from May 2025 through Huida and NVIDIA’s partners. Its starting price has been set at $3,000, making it accessible to small and medium researchers as well.
Impact on industry:
‘Project Digits’ technology will make large AI models possible on small machines, giving startups and individual researchers the benefit of new possibilities.
Expert opinion:
Technical experts believe that this move by NVIDIA will further boost the popularity of AI. However, there may be some challenges regarding its cost and actual performance.
This project will set new benchmarks in the field of AI modeling and data science. Students and researchers in particular will get an opportunity to experiment and learn.
NVIDIA’s ‘Project Digits’ is set to revolutionize every aspect of AI. This technology will take AI to the individual level, which will not only lead to development in the technical field but will also provide a strong platform to students and researchers to work on their projects.
