Move towards CoWoS-L technology
Huang mentioned the new generation technology of Nvidia’s Blackwell AI platform on this occasion. He said that the company is now moving from CoWoS-S advanced packaging process to CoWoS-L, which is a more complex and high-level technology. This advancement will not only make Nvidia’s products better, but it will also be further developed in collaboration with Taiwanese partner TSMC.
Huang’s statement: “Nvidia is committed to further strengthening its cooperation with Taiwan. Our partnership with TSMC and other partners will play an important role in enhancing Blackwell’s production capacity.”
Possibility of setting up headquarters in Taiwan?
On the media’s question whether Nvidia will set up its overseas headquarters in Taiwan, Huang clarified that this decision has not been taken yet. He said, “We need a larger operating unit, but it is not yet decided whether it will be in Taipei or Taichung.”
Celebrating Lunar New Year and meeting partners
During this visit, Huang is going to celebrate Lunar New Year with Nvidia employees in Taiwan. Apart from this, he will meet TSMC founder Zhang Zhongmou, Chairman Wei Zejia, and other key partners. During this, he will also interact with representatives of supply chain companies like Quanta and Hon Hai.
