SK Hynix’s role in HBM development

Chei Tae Won revealed that SK Hynix, which is SK Group’s most valuable subsidiary, is now moving at a fast pace in the development of HBM memory. He said, “Our HBM development speed is now faster than NVIDIA’s demand.” Previously, NVIDIA had expressed concern over SK Hynix’s slow development speed, but now this issue has been resolved.

He also added that this speed may increase even more in the future. Chei also emphasized South Korea’s strong manufacturing capabilities and expertise. Currently, SK Hynix is ​​the main supplier of HBM for NVIDIA.

Physical AI: The beginning of a new revolution

During the meeting, the concept of “physical AI” was also discussed in detail. NVIDIA CEO Huang said, “We have to extend AI to the physical environment. There is a need to develop tools that can ‘advance, reason, plan and act’.”

He said that working in this direction, NVIDIA has launched a physical AI development platform called “Cosmos” this week. This platform will help in the development of autonomous vehicles, robots, and other physical AI systems.

Features of Cosmos Platform

The Cosmos platform includes the world’s most advanced models, security protection mechanisms, and fast video processing pipelines. It aims to provide developers with high-quality synthetic data, allowing them to better train and test their models.

This platform is being adopted by robotics and automotive companies such as Uber, XPENG Motors, Agility Robotics, and Neura Robotics. These companies believe that the Cosmos model will give a new direction to the future of AI.

Future of AI and HBM

Technological experts believe that this partnership between NVIDIA and SK Hynix can prove to be a milestone for the AI ​​industry. This collaboration will not only boost HBM memory supply but will also help open new dimensions of AI and robotics.
