About The Role

As a Project Analytics Specialist at Optum, you will collaborate with a global team to develop and maintain BI tools, automated reporting, and high-quality data analytics. You will serve as a subject matter expert for clients and stakeholders, translating business needs into actionable insights while ensuring data accuracy, usability, and security. This role is fully remote, offering flexibility along with the opportunity to contribute to projects that shape healthcare delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and address data quality issues, outliers, and missing values
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover patterns and trends
  • Monitor and troubleshoot ingestion pipelines and data errors
  • Translate complex data findings into actionable insights for stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process optimization
  • Build analytics tools to track operational efficiency and performance
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Document methodologies, assumptions, and findings for future reference
  • Ensure compliance while handling PHI / PII data

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (or higher)
  • 2+ years of experience in data analytics
  • 2+ years of experience with intermediate to advanced SQL
  • 2+ years of experience communicating technical information to non-technical audiences
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Intermediate experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau)
  • Strong understanding of data quality best practices
  • Ability and willingness to work occasional weekends and evenings

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with healthcare data (members, claims, providers)
  • Knowledge of medical records retrieval industry standards
  • Experience with data pipelines, database structures, and ETL practices
  • Ability to read and adjust Python scripts
  • Advanced knowledge of Salesforce, including data loads and extracts
