The Opportunity: We are looking for a sharp and enthusiastic Analyst to join our growing Merchant Lending team. In this role, you will be instrumental in transforming raw data into actionable insights that drive our lending strategy, risk management, and product development. What You’ll Do:
- Performance Monitoring: Assist in developing and maintaining dashboards and reports to track key lending metrics, such as loan origination, portfolio health, repayment rates, and collection efficiency.
- Credit Model Support: Support the Senior Risk Analyst and data scientists in gathering data for credit model development, testing, and ongoing monitoring.
- Trend Identification: Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in merchant behavior and lending performance, providing insights to the team.
- Support Underwriting Decisions: Assist the Senior Risk Analyst in reviewing and analyzing credit applications for merchants, primarily focusing on applications flagged for manual review by our automated systems.
- Data Analysis & Validation: Collect, organize, and analyze financial statements, marketplace transaction data, and other relevant information to assess merchant creditworthiness. Validate data accuracy and identify inconsistencies.
- Credit Assessment: Perform initial credit assessments based on established policies and procedures, identifying key risk factors and red flags.
- Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all loan applications and supporting documents are complete, accurate, and compliant with internal policies and regulatory guidelines (e.g., RBI norms).
What We’re Looking For:
- Education: CA / Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, with at least 3-5 years experience in a Financial Services organization
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a data analysis role.
Technical Skills:
- SQL: Strong proficiency in writing complex SQL queries for data extraction and manipulation is essential.
- Excel: Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, charting, data manipulation).
- Data Visualization: Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or even advanced Excel charting) is a plus.
- Analytical Mindset: Proven ability to analyze complex data, identify key insights, and present them clearly.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex issues.
- Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
