Role Description

This is a full-time role for an Assistant Manager – C&P. The Assistant Manager will be responsible for managing contracts and procurement processes, coordinating with vendors, ensuring compliance with company policies, and preparing documentation. Additional responsibilities include analyzing market trends, negotiating contract terms, and maintaining supplier relationships. This is an on-site role located in Mumbai.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Manager – Contracts & Procurement to play a crucial role in our real estate development projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of contracts and procurement, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely execution of projects. You will leverage your civil engineering background and extensive experience to negotiate favorable terms, manage vendor relationships, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with project timelines and budgets.
  • Prepare and manage all contract-related documentation, including tender documents, RFQs/RFPs, contracts, and agreements.
  • Identify, evaluate, and pre-qualify potential vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Lead the tendering process, including bid evaluation, negotiation, and vendor selection.
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions to ensure favorable pricing, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
  • Manage and maintain strong relationships with vendors, contractors, and consultants.
  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Oversee the procurement of materials, equipment, and services for various real estate projects.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, and company policies related to contracts and procurement.
  • Track and report on procurement activities, cost savings, and potential risks.
  • Collaborate closely with project management, engineering, finance, and legal teams.
  • Manage and resolve any contractual disputes or issues effectively.
  • Maintain accurate and organized procurement records and documentation.
  • Stay updated on market trends, pricing, and new technologies related to construction materials and services.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement processes and procedures.
  • Qualifications and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (B.E. Civil) from a recognized university.
    • Minimum of 6-8 years of progressive experience in contracts and procurement within the real estate or construction industry.
    • Proven track record of successfully managing procurement processes for medium to large-scale real estate projects.
    • Strong understanding of construction materials, specifications, and industry best practices.
    • Excellent negotiation, communication (both written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in contract drafting, review, and management.
    • Familiarity with relevant legal and regulatory frameworks related to contracts and procurement in India.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively. 
    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 
    • Knowledge of ERP or procurement software is an advantage.
