Position Title: Production Officer – Packing.
Educational Qualification: Engineer graduate Mechanical / Electrical (Packing Officer).
Location: Ranjangoan, Pune
Desired Competencies: Knowledge of Biscuits, Cake, Rusk & Bakery Manufacturing process and Management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- 1. Production Management
- Manage daily packing operations and ensure timely production as per plans.
- Verify allocation, working condition of machines, and adherence to quality systems and food safety norms (general hygiene, display boards, pack photo displays, etc.).
- Support operators in resolving online issues during production.
- Review and match S&F Transfer Challan with mixing tonnage reports.
- Prepare production, downtime, and labor reports.
- In case of production plan changes or machine breakdowns, adjust machine settings, plan material changes, and issue revised instructions to operators.
- Coordinate with stores for coding studs, especially for promotional stocks.
- 2. Quality Control
- Conduct visual inspections of biscuit quality and random checks on packed product quality (sealing, coding, paneling, biscuit breakage).
- Make decisions regarding acceptance/rejection of biscuits, rectification, recycling, and workforce allocation.
- Handle non-conforming products and wrapping materials according to scrap guidelines.
- Ensure packed biscuits meet quality standards and production plans.
- 3. Equipment Maintenance
- Identify methods for repairs and guide fitters in executing repairs.
- Verify machine working conditions post-repair and ensure minimal downtime.
- Maintain detailed shift activity logs to track breakdowns and resolutions.
- 4. Process Improvement & Compliance
- Act as Factory Coordinator in MR (Management Review) meetings, identify issues, and develop corrective action plans.
- Conduct FSMS (Food Safety Management System) audits, facilitate closure of non-conformities, and participate in final certification audits.
- Organize FSMS training sessions for employees to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- 5. Supply Chain Planning & Development
- Handle customer complaints by identifying root causes, executing corrective actions, and reporting outcomes.
- Participate in internal meetings (FCC, Quality, Production, Communication) and contribute to performance reviews and reporting.
- Set KRAs (Key Result Areas) and conduct regular feedback sessions with team members.
- Recommend learning and development initiatives for employees to HR.
- Support equipment and process upgradation through trials and learning operating parameters.
- Participate in policy-making by reporting misconducts and supporting disciplinary inquiries.
