The main responsibility for the Animation Timer is to ensure that the Director and Executive Producer’s overall creative vision for the timing of the show is understood by the studio producing the animation through completion of timing on the x-sheets (exposure sheets).
Responsibilities
- Using the animatic and storyboards as a guide, works out the timing of the dialogue and the overall action
- Indicates lip assignment
- Delivers finished x-sheets per scheduled deadline to either the Timing Supervisor or Timing Director
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Animation sheet samples or demonstrate working knowledge
- Knowledge of Traditional Animation and CG Animation pipelines
- Working knowledge of Track Read and Animatic for problem solving
- Familiarity with breadth of layout, background and slugging
Skills
- Ability to produce approximately 75-100ft/day (depending on complexity of series)
- Capable of identifying board adjustment
- Alignment with style and sensibility of show
- Flexibility in a fast pace environment
- Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills
The pay rate for this role in Glendale, California is $45.92 per hour.
